Our Process
Where To Begin
- How did you find out about Remodeling Designs, Inc.?
- From a friend who has experienced our service?
- From a newspaper story detailing one of our award winning projects?
- Maybe you saw that Remodeling Designs, Inc. was selected as one of the Top 25 Companies to Work For in the Residential Building and Remodeling Industry... knowing that great things come from companies that treat their people right.
- You could have been surfing the 'net one night looking for a few companies to talk to...and you found a wealth of information on our FAQ page, and decided we might fit the bill for your project.
- However you found us, we are glad you did. The first step is to get in touch with us. Most potential clients do it by phone, but if you prefer an e-mail conversation first, that's fine too. And if the e-mail conversation works out, then you can call into our office. We are there, 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. There are no answering machines, or long drawn-out automated phone menus. Just helpful, friendly people ready to help you begin your journey to a successful remodeling experience.
First Contact
- When you call into our office, you can expect to be asked many different questions.... and expect us to listen to your answers.
- We not only ask the basic questions, we want to know what you expect from your remodeling experience. What is important to you, what your requirements will be.
- If Remodeling Designs, Inc. is a good fit for you and your project, our office staff will schedule a time for one of our Project Consultants to visit your home and discuss your project in more detail.
First Visit
- First, we make a phone call to you before we come, confirming our visit.
- When we arrive, we ask more questions, sometimes the same ones, for the benefit of all those attending.
- In addition to the photos of our work on our website, we bring additional photos of previous work. They are filled with thought provoking design ideas.
- We discuss as many of the details of your project that we can at this point. Some potential clients know exactly what they want, and some have no idea. Most fall somewhere in the middle. Any starting point is fine with us. Over the years we have seen the gamut.... sometimes we are surprised, but we love a challenge!
- Due to our vast experience concentrating on residential remodeling, we can usually discuss a budget range of where your project may be.
Options
- Depending on the size and complexity of your project, we will be able to suggest the best planning method.
- If the project is of considerable size such as a large room addition, and would require the services of an architect, we can facilitate the process through bringing all parties together, developing a design, preparing a Scope of Work and an estimated investment for the project.
- If the project requires major design work, such as a kitchen, basement, major bathroom or simple room addition, our In-House Design Team would handle the design, selection of materials, preparing a Scope of Work, and an estimated investment for the project.
- If the project is more limited in scope and does not require the services of a designer, then we can prepare a Scope of Work, and an estimated investment for the project.
- Depending on the level of service required, there are fees required for this work. Fee amounts are based on the complexity of the project and the amount of work required. This is done to bring value to the service provided. How many times has someone said to you "Yes, it's a free estimate.... I'll get back to you". And they never do. We feel our approach gives both potential client and Remodeling Designs, Inc. a vested interest in the project. You are serious about the project, and we are serious about doing the project for you.
